Last weekend we watched a Mardi Gras parade of boats by our home.  There were many decorated boats and they all were throwing strings of beads at all the people on the docks along the waterway.  Some of the strings we caught and some went in the water and we are lucky we didn't go in with them!

Lots of fun boats on the water

Some colorful boats

Then we went to see the USS Alabama that is right by Mobile, Alabama.  We walked around and inside the ship and saw some great aircraft and even went inside a WWII submarine (at least Rick did).

The Ship was very big!

The doorways in the submarine were about 2 ft by 3 ft.
I don't know how they moved around with about 100 men on the sub.

JoAnn especially liked the A-12 Blackbird.  Just ask her how fast it flies.

And it's not a family blog without pictures of our grandchildren Adia and Gavin.

He is just so cute!  And here is Adia with two of her Great Grandmothers at California Adventure.
