We had a great time seeing Jared at his Boot Camp graduation exercise. I had almost no idea what was to take place or if we would even be able to see him alone but as it turned out we did get to spend about 5 hours on Wednesday and a couple of hours Thursday with him. Amelia was with us and stayed a few extra days and they got to spend a couple of more days together.
The first time we saw him was at his barracks under an awning on one end of his building.
Here is where he stayed. They were brand new dorms, sixty in a room behind the doors on the right.
For the graduation we went to a special review area and they had a program where they showed a demonstration of two squads coming towards us through smoke. It was very impressive and had music from on of my favorite movies "Last of the Mohicans" playing over the speakers.
The band played as they marched. See if you can spot Jared on the front row.
After the ceremony we got to walk out on the field and greet our solder.
He looked great! He had lost some weight in the hot Georgia heat. And he had his head shaved but he said he gets to grow his hair out during Officer Candidate School.
